Prayer Prompts: Week 3 – Open the eyes of my heart (Ephesians 1:18-20)

Day 1 Lord, in my spiritual blindness, I often only see the challenges I’m facing. Open the eyes of my heart to see more clearly from your perspective. What am I spiritually blind to? (Listen & wait on the Lord)
Day 2 Lord, when I see the hope of your calling, the wealth of your inheritance in the saints, and your immeasurable greatness, it leads me to pray ___________________ .
Day 3 Lord, when I think about the spiritually blind people you’ve placed in my life, I pray that you would open the eyes of ______________________

to who you are and who he/she was created to be in you.

Day 4 Lord, my heart is deceitful above all else (Jeremiah 17:9). I pray that you would reveal the sin in my life. (Listen & wait on the Lord)
Day 5 Lord, You don’t always eliminate my enemies, but you do illuminate Yourself. What do you want to show me of Yourself today? (Spend time in silence and listening to the Lord.)

Life Group Q’s
“Big Brains and Diseased Hearts”

I Pray: Week 3,  Ephesians 1:18-20

Catching Up
Describe an “Aha” moment you’ve had that stands out to you.

How have you been applying what we’ve been learning about prayer to your prayer life this past week or two?

Which point of this week’s sermon was most helpful, challenging, or thought provoking for you? Why?

Going Deeper
Read 1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 4:23; Luke 6:45.

What do these verses tell us about the importance of the heart? Can you think of other verses that speak to the role of the heart in our spiritual lives?

Re-read 2 Kings 6:15-17 – How do your physical eyes limit your spiritual eyes?

“God doesn’t always eliminate the enemy. He illuminates Himself.” Where in your life do you feel like the threat of the enemy is great and need the illumination of God? What current situations in your life do you need to see through God’s eyes with new perspective?

How might God already be in the midst of your biggest challenge right now that you haven’t seen?

How do the Truths of Ephesians 1:18-20 shape how you see (A) God, (B) yourself, and (C) impact how you approach prayer?

Prayer: Spend time in prayer for one another based on the model and truths of this prayer in Ephesians 1:18-20. Also, pray for the spiritually blind people in your life.

*Memorize Ephesians 1:18 * Read/listen through Ephesians this week.
