Ephesians 3:17

What a significant time in history we live in! As we celebrate freedom and our countries independence today, I think we are all aware at the reality of the spiritual battle that is also ramping up! As our roots go deep in God’s love I am confident in His victory and provision for us!  Thank you for your partnership in God’s Kingdom work! Thank you for your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ! – Pastor Jon

“and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love.”  Ephesians 3:17 (CSB)

I will be teaching from the NLT version because of sentence structure (more stand alone). Here you can compare the two versions…

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”

Ephesians 3:17 (NLT)

  1. His home in our hearts.
  2. “When an unclean spirit comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places looking for rest, and not finding rest, it then says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ 25 Returning, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that person’s last condition is worse than the first.” Luke 11:24 (CSB)
  1. Luke’s account gives us confidence that this passage can ‘stand alone’ if you’d like to compare to Matthew’s can be found Bible – Matt 12:45.
  1. A generation or a society is made up of people like us – and societies change one heart at a time.
  1. Your house equals your mind, body, and spirit. The whole person is manifest in your thought life.
  1. You can put your house in order (thought life) but left empty it is unsustainable and very vulnerable. Luke 11:24
  2. The ministry of offering a sanctuary brings temporary but hopefully strategic relief. We can help someone clean their kitchen. Don’t fear ‘relapse’ but fill, fill, fill, with Jesus!
  3. Your Roots will grow down into God’s love!
  1. Pray Psalm 1, choose to find your delight in God!
  1. Dwell in God’s Love: settling down; invite God to take up

permanent residence in our emotions and will.

  1. This prayer instruction is so we can grasp what’s next…
  1. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. YOU are God’s masterpiece! Ephesians 2:10
  1. What’s next is BIG, you are significant! New Bridge this is for YOU! Your place and time in history is great! God has a strategic plan for all of us! You are ready!
  1. Happy Independence Day!
  1. Our God Loves Freedom!
  2. True freedom is found in a love for you that is so pure and selfless that it promotes you to be who God designed you to be!
  1. Thank you for your faith that brings freedom to so many!
