Life Group Q’s The Have & Have Nots – Part 2 05/02/21
Which point of this week’s sermon was most helpful, challenging, or thought provoking for you? Why?
Read 1 John 1:5-10. Walk does walking in darkness look like? What does walking in light look like? What do these verses tell us about the gospel?
As important as confessing our sins to God directly is, and as important as making commitments to God is, why are both more significant when done in community with others? What keeps us from entering into the process of examining our hearts and expressing what is revealed to others?
(consider splitting into male/female groups for this next part)
James 5:16 confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
Pastor James challenged us to cut out spiritual dullness. As you’ve examined your heart, and life what is causing spiritual dullness in you? What does cutting that out look like?
What do you need to confess?
Pray for each other.
Prayer: Pray a Psalm 51 kind of prayer as a life group. Invite God to examine your individual hearts. Invite God to examine you as a life group. What is He is exposing? What needs to be cut back/removed/confessed? Repent of what needs to be repented for. Replace the lies of Satan with the Truths of the Bible. Receive God’s grace and your individual and collective identity in Christ.
