Catching Up
Do you have anything to share about how God used the Easter celebration in your life or in the life of someone you invited?

What stood out to you, was challenging, or helpful to you from this week’s sermon?

Do you have a hard time asking for help?

Going Deeper: Read Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10; Colossians 1:21; 2:13-15

How do these verses relate to what James preached about from Eph 2:1-9?

Why do you think it often feels so offensive to refer to ourselves/others as spiritually dead apart from the work of Christ? What is beneath the surface of that response from us?

Re-read Colossians 2:14-15. List the work these verses say God did on our behalf? Compare these with Ephesians 2:4-5,8-9

Colossians 2:14 says that God has nailed the debt of our sins to the cross. How does this mental picture help you fight against sins from your past that you still struggle with or that are thrown back in your face?

How does these truths lead us to a place of humble confidence? Discuss the inter-working of humility and confidence as a result of God’s work in salvation. How does this impact the way you interact with those who have yet to follow Jesus?

Prayer: Pray for one another as needed (keeping Ephesians 1:17-23 in mind) and (B) pray for those God has placed in your life who are in need of the Gospel. Allow 2:1-9 to influence how you pray for these people.
*Memorize Ephesians 2:8-9. * Read/listen through Ephesians this week.
