Catching Up

Did anyone go to the family of origin workshop last Saturday? Tell us about what you learned and what you took away from it.

• How did it go this past week as you applied last week’s sermon? What can we celebrate? What can we pray about?

• Which part of Joseph’s story did you identify with most & why? (i.e. Pain, needing to stare pain in the face, desire for a different future, need to forgive, etc.)

• Can you share about a time when you’ve forgiven someone who brought significant pain into your life? What did you experience from extending that forgiveness?

Going Deeper:

• Read Matthew 18:21-35 – What do we learn about forgiveness from this passage? (Connection between what we’ve received and what we offer)

• What part of this passage is most difficult for you personally?

• Which of the tentacles of unforgiveness mentioned in the sermon have you personally experienced?

Individual application: What is one step of action that God is calling you to take based on this week’s sermon and discussion?

Who is someone in your life, far from Jesus but near to you, who you can tell about what you’re learning?

Prayer: Stop and pray for one another based on the discussion and application. Pray by name for those in your life who need to receive Jesus’ forgiveness.
